University Startups announced a partnership with Bowie State University’s Entrepreneurship Innovation Center to lead its Summer Launch Incubator. This unique incubator will provide a group of nine students with the opportunity to accelerate the development of their business ideas with industry experts.
Bowie State University students will develop the skills to think critically, make new discoveries, value differences and emerge as leaders in the global society. The 9-week Summer Launch Incubator teaches students how to take their ideas to the next level through mentors, workshops, and a stipend for the students.
“The Entrepreneurship Innovation Center is excited to have University Startups partner with us to facilitate our Summer Launch Program. The 9-week startup incubator program is for current Bowie State University students who want to launch a new venture and get real-time feedback from industry professionals.” said Johnetta Boseman Hardy, Executive Director of the Entrepreneurship Innovation Center.
The University Startups courses are taught virtually by professors from top-tier business schools. The goal is to encourage students to learn an entrepreneurial mindset through experience with top professors. The courses help students create pathways for success, in school and beyond. 70% of students who took part in the University Startups course said they are better at turning ideas into plans after completing the course.
“We are so excited to be working with the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center at Bowie State University and to contribute to the Summer Launch Program,” said Tremain Davis, SVP of Community Partnership and facilitator at University Startups. “I have no doubt that the next few weeks will be a transformational experience for the participants,” said Davis.
