This privacy policy describes how University Startups ("USU," "we," or "us") collects, uses, and shares personal information through our public website at www.university-startups.com and related marketing pages that link to this policy (collectively, the "site").
This site is a marketing and information resource for educators, administrators, and district partners. It is separate from the University Startups transition planning platform used by schools under district agreements. Student educational records in the platform are governed by those agreements and applicable laws, including FERPA, as described below.
Information We Collect
Personal Information You Provide
When you use our site, you may voluntarily provide personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, job title, school or district name, and other details you include in a demo request, email, or similar form. You can browse most of the site without providing this information.
We do not intend to collect personal information from a child under the age of 13 without the permission of a parent or guardian. If a child under the age of 13 provides information to us, we will endeavor to obtain parental consent or delete that information.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided information without parental consent, please contact us at info@university-startups.com and we will endeavor to delete it.
Technical Information
In addition to personal information, we may gather technical information automatically when you use the site, including IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, Internet service provider, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. We may use cookies or similar technologies to collect such information. You may be able to set your browser to notify you when a cookie is sent or to refuse cookies altogether, but certain features of this site might not work without cookies.

The request-demo page also uses HubSpot to process demo submissions.

FERPA and Student Educational Records
This marketing site does not collect student IEPs, disability records, or other FERPA-protected educational records. When schools use the University Startups platform, student data is handled under written agreements with the district or school, applicable privacy laws, and our Responsible AI Use standards. Districts remain responsible for obtaining appropriate consents and authorizations for student use of educational technology.
Digital Advertising
USU does not partner with interest-based advertisers on this site.
California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you may have rights to request access to, deletion of, or correction of personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of certain sharing. We do not sell personal information collected through this marketing site. To make a request, email info@university-startups.com.
Updating Your Information
To update or delete personal information we hold from a demo request or mailing list, email info@university-startups.com.
